The hero of the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains, Prix d’Ispahan and Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, in which he dominated 5 Gr.1 winners by several lengths, Persian King understandably attracted great interest for his first season at stud. Limited to 140 mares, as are all the sires based at the Normandy stud, Persian King begins his breeding career with a most prestigious book of mares, thanks notably to considerable support from shareholders.

His list of fiancées includes excellent broodmares such as TARANTO : dam of Gr.1 Prix Jean Prat winner and Darley sire Territories ; GOLDEN LILY who has already produced Lily’s Candle, winner of the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac; PRINCESS SOFIA, mother of Prince Gibraltar ; MILENA’S DREAM dam of Etoile who lifted the Gr.1 EP Taylor Stakes in 2020, and SEFROUA dam of the talented Suphala and granddaughter of Serena’s Song.

The son of Kingman has also been selected to cover high-class performers such as  Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac scorer ROSANARA;  6-time winner WAIKIKA who concluded her career for Yann Barberot with a Gr.1 success; RESTIADARGENT, winner of the Gr.2 Critérium de Maisons-Laffitte and Gr.3 Prix d’Arenberg as a juvenile, and third in the Gr.1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes the following season, and also the precocious PURE ZEN, a Listed victix at two years old and close second in the Gr.2 Prix de Sandringham at three.
