Haras d'Etreham extends its support for the industry by sponsoring the Prix Jean Prat (Gr.1)
The Haras d’Etreham and France Galop are pleased to announce the extension in 2024 of the sponsorship partnership of the Haras d’Etreham Prix Jean Prat, which was initiated in 2021. This Group 1 contest reserved for three-year-old colts and fillies is run over the distance of 1400m on the straight course of Deauville-La Touques, and the next edition will be on 7th July 2024.
In the Flat discipline, the Haras d'Etreham naturally chose Deauville-La Touques racecourse for its warm and friendly atmosphere, its proximity to breeders and its prestigious racing programme.
Nicolas de Chambure, Managing Director of the Haras d’Etreham, explains, “It is important for us to continue our support by sponsoring a major competition such as the Prix Jean Prat (Gr.1). As a stallion owner, this is a logical race as its reputation as a stallion-making contest continues to grow. The event has been extremely well-received over the past three years and we have had excellent feedback on the hospitality which we organise. In this way, and by sharing this wonderful day of racing, we relay our gratitude to breeders and professionals who place their support and their trust in us.”
The Haras d’Etreham has also been committed to supporting the programme of young jumps fillies since 2019, through the sponsorship of the Haras d’Etreham Prix Magalen Bryant, a Groupe 2 contest at Auteuil. The Normandy stud thus confirms its determination to support French racing and its stakeholders, especially breeders.
Guillaume de Saint-Seine, President of France Galop, commented, “France Galop expresses its gratitude to the Haras d’Etreham and its maaging director Nicolas de Chambure, for their support of French racing. The extension of the partnership with the prestigious Prix Jean Prat, the only Group 1 race in Europe over the distance of 1400m and reserved for the three-year-old generation, contributes to the valorisation of this contest of great importance for the selection of future stallions. The Haras d’Etreham is also active in supporting the jumps discipline, with particular focus on the promotion of young fillies. These initiatives are essential to increase the visibility and the prestige of our national racing programme.”
