The Haras d’Etreham announces flat stallion fees for the 2024 season
The Haras d’Etreham, which welcomes a top-class new recruit for the forthcoming season, is pleased to announce fees for their five flat stallions.
Nicolas de Chambure stated, “This will be a very special season at Etreham because we welcome Onesto with pride and great enthusiasm, and because 2024 will see the first progeny of our young stallions Hello Youmzain and Persian King on the track. These are important and highly motivating events for a stud farm!
We are committed to offering breeders the very best and we are delighted to be able to offer stallion profiles such as these for the new breeding season.”
The arrival of Onesto at stud represents a unique opportunity for the French stallion scene. A son of the exceptional Frankel, this Gr.I winner hails from one of Juddmonte’s most illustrious families, that of Hasili. Boasting a devastating turn of foot, Onesto turned heads from the outset at the American Breeze-Up sales and concluded his career at four years old, leaving memories of breathtaking finishes up against the best horses in the world.
An easy winner on his debut at two years old, and awarded a “rising star” for the style of his success, Onesto lifted a pair of Group races at three. He won the Gr.I Grand Prix de Paris, beating 5 winners of 12 Group contests, including Gr.I scorers Simca Mille and Eldar Eldarov, and two months later he put up a memorable performance in the Gr.I Irish Champion Stakes, only narrowly beaten by Luxembourg after a fantastic final straight. For his final season as a four-year-old, he who is to become the best son of Frankel at stud in France and the first stallion out of a mare by Sea The Stars was again successful at the highest level, capable of an excellent return to action in the Gr.I Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard Jacques Le Marois over a mile before taking a striking third place in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the only horse in the race to complete the final furlong in under 11 seconds.
Onesto will be proposed for a fee of 12,500€ and is currently being syndicated. Some shares are still available.
The first yearlings of Hello Youmzain are powerful, good walkers which show signs of precocity, and they have raised bids of up to 300,000€ for an average of 80,000€. Some of his 110 offspring born in 2022 are already declared in training in autumn with professionals such as André Fabre, Jean-Claude Rouget, Christopher Head, Philippe Decouz, Carlos and Yann Lerner… and this bodes well for the early part of the 2024 season!
The only stud of Kodiac at stud in France and his best son at stud will continue to cover mares for a fee of 22,500€.
Our European Champion Almanzor has produced Black Type progeny from each of his three first crops.
His first two generations boast a ratio of over 50% winners to runners and over 70% of horses placed in the first three. Strongly supported by breeders and shareholders, the best son of Wootton Bassett will be represented by a new crop of almost 90 juveniles in 2024, including individuals purchased by the likes of Jean-Claude Rouget, Robson Aguiar, Hidetoshi Yamamoto and Dwayne Woods for figures reaching 165,000€, 185,000€, 200,000€ and up to 300,000€.
Almanzor will be proposed for a fee of 10,000€ in 2024.
